For our office in Amsterdam Sloterdijk, we are looking for a:
System Engineer
(Full-time, Hybrid – 40 hrs/week)
Responsibilities:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining both front-end and back-end applications.
- Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code in PHP and the Laravel framework.
- Developing interactive user interfaces with JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern UI libraries such as React or Vue.js.
- Contributing to projects utilizing the .Net framework and C#.
- Deploying and managing applications using Docker Containers.
- Working within a hybrid infrastructure, encompassing both on-premise systems and cloud platforms.
- Operating and deploying solutions across both Linux and Windows server environments.
- Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions.
- Utilizing Linux shell scripting for automation and system administration tasks.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues across the full stack.
- Contributing to architectural decisions and best practices.
Requirements:
Attention to detail – You have a keen eye for accuracy and consistency.
Valid working permit for the Netherlands – Required to apply.
Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent thinking level.
Experience – Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in IT system development.
Language skills – Excellent command of English and preferably Japanese (written and spoken).
Skills & Competencies:
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer.
- Strong proficiency in PHP and the Laravel framework.
- Solid understanding of modern TypeScript and JavaScript development.
- Experience with at least one modern Frontend Framework such as React, Vue.js, or similar.
- Experience with .Net and/or C# is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with Docker Containers.
- Familiarity with hybrid on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
- Excellent version control skills using Git and GitHub.
- Comfortable working in both Linux and Windows server environments.
- Experience with DevOps tools including Docker, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in Linux shell scripting.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
Nice to have:
- Experience with specific cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).Knowledge of database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Experience with testing frameworks.
- Experience with web server like NGINX and APACHE
- Basic knowledge of XML or DITA stylesheets in the context of content development.
