Localisation Engineering coordinator
(Full-time, Hybrid – 40 hrs/week)
About the Role
We are looking for a Localisation Engineering Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible
for the technical aspects of the localization process, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within
budget, and at the highest quality. You will work closely with project coordinators, suppliers, linguists, and
sales executives to optimize workflows and ensure seamless integration of translated content across different
formats and platforms.

Responsibilities:
Project Analysis & Estimation
– Analyse new projects to determine technical requirements and feasibility.
– Estimate costs and timelines for projects.
File Preparation & Processing
– Prepare and convert source files (e.g., XML, HTML, InDesign, FrameMaker, EPS, AI, Excel) for
translation.
– Extract and reintegrate text using various tools to ensure compatibility with CAT (Computer-Assisted
Translation) tools.
– Manage file formats, character encoding, and text segmentation.
Automation & Optimization
– Create and run pre- and post-processing scripts to automate parts of the localization workflow.
– Implement linguistic or stylistic changes as indicated by linguists.
Quality Assurance & Finalization
– Perform functional, layout, and specification QA on localized content.
– Edit DITA and other XML-based formats.
– Ensure projects are finalized according to specifications for print and digital formats.
– Handle pre-press processing and adjustments.
Requirements:
Attention to detail – You have a keen eye for accuracy and consistency.
Valid working permit for the Netherlands – Required to apply.
Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent thinking level.
Experience – Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in localization, printing, or multi-channel communication.
Language skills – Excellent command of English (written and spoken) and knowledge of other European or
Asian languages is a plus.
Technical knowledge:
– Understanding of quality assurance for print documents (PDFs).
– Understanding of markup languages (HTML, XML).
– Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
– Familiarity with regular expressions (Regex) and scripting/macros.
